Note: use a special tool or fixture.
Attention. To prevent damage to the steering gear, clamp it in a vise using copper pads or a clean cloth.
Disassembly of the steering gearbox is carried out according to the given general view drawing, taking into account the following features:
Tie rod ends
Apply alignment marks as shown in the figure for correct installation later. Remove the tie rod end.
Anther clamps
Insert a flathead screwdriver into the boot clamp as shown in the illustration. Then press the embossed area outward to remove the boot collar.
Tie rods
Fix the tie rod (from the steering gear) against turning with a suitable wrench, and unscrew the tie rod with another suitable wrench.
Mounting sleeves
Use a suitable mandrel and press to remove the mounting sleeves from the steering gear housing.
