Attention. Do not splash water in the engine compartment. Water on electrical devices such as audio head unit and electrical switches is dangerous and may cause a malfunction or fire.
Instrument Panel Care Warnings
Do not allow caustic liquids such as perfumed or cosmetic oils to come into contact with the instrument panel. They will damage and discolor the instrument panel. If such compounds come into contact with the instrument panel, wipe them off immediately.
Attention. Do not use glossing agents. These products contain ingredients that cause discoloration, wrinkling, cracking and flaking of the instrument panel trim material.
Car interior care
Vinyl covering
Remove dust and dirt from the vinyl flooring with a sweeper or vacuum cleaner. To clean vinyl flooring, use specific cleaners designed for leather and vinyl.
Leather upholstery (some performances)
First of all, remove dirt particles and sand using a vacuum cleaner or other devices. Then, using a soft cloth coated with leather cleaner or a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water, wipe the cover clean.
Remove any cleaner or soap residue with a cloth soaked in clean water and then wrung out thoroughly.
Remove moisture with a dry soft cloth and leave to dry completely in a well-ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight.
If the leather upholstery accidentally gets wet during normal vehicle use (e.g. due to rain), then in this case also immediately remove excess moisture and dry the upholstery.
Note:
- Natural leather is heterogeneous in its structure. Therefore, it may have scars, scratches or wrinkles of natural origin.
- For long-term preservation of the aesthetic properties of genuine leather upholstery, it is recommended to carry out periodic (about twice a year) caring for her.
- Sand and dirt on the surface of the seats can damage the top layer of the leather and greatly accelerate the wear process.
- Grease on the surface of genuine leather can cause mold growth and staining.
- When using hard brushes or rough cloths for cleaning, be especially careful: excessive force may damage the finish.
- Do not use alcohol, chlorine-based bleach or organic solutions on genuine leather (solvents, benzene, gasoline). Otherwise, discoloration or staining may occur.
- If the seats get wet, quickly remove excess moisture with a dry cloth. If this is not done, then the absorbed moisture can lead to the formation of various defects, such as hardening and wrinkling.
- Do not leave the vehicle exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time. This can damage the genuine leather upholstery. If the car has to be parked for a long time in direct sunlight, protect the interior with sun screens.
- Do not leave anything made of vinyl plastic on the seats for a long time. This can damage the leather upholstery. If the temperature inside the vehicle rises, the vinyl may begin to decompose, causing it to stick to the leather upholstery.
Fabric upholstery
Remove dust and dirt from fabric upholstery with a sweeper or vacuum cleaner. To clean fabric upholstery, use a mild, neutral soap solution designed for fabrics and woven rugs. Remove stains from fabric upholstery immediately while they are fresh. To do this, use special stain cleaners designed for the treatment of fabrics.
Maintain your fabric upholstery to keep it clean and looking fresh and new. In the absence of proper care, the upholstery will lose its original color and become stained. In addition, the resistance of fabric upholstery to fire may be reduced.
Attention. For fabric upholstery, use only recommended cleaning products and treatments. Unsuitable products or incorrect methods of using cleaning agents can ruin the appearance and reduce the fire resistance of fabric upholstery.
Black polished plastic panels and inserts (some performances)
The instrument panel side trim uses high-gloss panels and inserts with a special anti-scratch coating. Use a soft cloth to clean the surface of these panels from dirt.
Note: Scratches and other surface imperfections caused by the use of coarse brushes or rags may be difficult to remove.
Seat belt care
To clean the seat belt webbing, use a mild, neutral soap solution that is designed for fabrics and woven rugs. Follow all instructions for cleaning seat belts. Do not bleach or dye the seat belt straps. This can lead to a decrease in the strength of the straps.
After cleaning the seat belts, dry the straps thoroughly. Before winding the belt into the inertial reel, check that the webbing is completely dry.
Attention. Replace a defective seat belt immediately. To do this, contact a service station of an authorized Mazda dealer. It is dangerous to use seat belts with damaged straps. In the event of an accident, such a seat belt will not provide effective protection.
Glass interior care
If the inside of the glass is covered with a greasy or waxy film, wipe the glass with a glass cleaner. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the bottle of cleaner.
Attention.
- Do not scrape or scratch the inside of the rear window: you may scratch the electrically conductive wire of the defroster or antenna.
- Use a soft cloth moistened with warm water to clean the inside of the rear window. Gently wipe the electric rear window defroster mesh and antenna wire.
- The use of glass cleaners may damage the electric rear window defroster mesh and antenna.
