In the case of a vehicle with type A instrument cluster, if there is a system malfunction, check the condition of the vehicle or contact an Authorized Mazda Dealer.

*The mode of switching on lighting devices is set automatically depending on the external lighting registered by the sensor.
Automatic lighting control
If the central light switch is turned to the «AUTO» (automatic control of lighting devices), then with the ignition on (ignition switch is in position «ON») headlights and other ambient lighting devices, as well as the instrument panel lighting, turn on and off automatically according to the light sensor signals - depending on the ambient light conditions.
Attention.
- Do not cover the light sensor with anything (do not stick a film or labels on the windshield in the area of the sensor). Otherwise, the sensor will not work correctly.
- The light sensor also functions as a rain sensor in the automatic wiper control system. Be careful not to put your hands, brush or squeegee near the windshield when the wiper is set to automatic and the ignition is on. When the wiper is automatically activated, you may injure your fingers, and the wiper blades and arms may be mechanically damaged. If you are going to clean the windshield, make sure the wiper is off completely. This is especially important in winter when it is necessary to clear the windshield of snow or ice - in these cases, as a rule, the engine is started and continues to work.
Note:
- Lighting devices may not respond immediately and may not turn off immediately after a sharp increase in the level of illumination outside the car, if the system determines that this happened during the hours of darkness (that is, before that, the light level was low for several minutes). A sharp increase in the level of illumination at night can occur, for example, when a car enters a lighted tunnel, when parked in a long traffic jam in a tunnel, when entering a covered covered parking lot. In such cases, to switch off the lights, turn the central light switch to the position «OFF» («Turned off»).
- If the central light switch is in the position «AUTQ» («Automatic lighting control»), then when the ignition switch is turned to the position «ACC» («Auxiliary consumers of electricity») or «OFF» («Ignition off») headlights, other ambient lights and control panel illumination will be turned off.
- The brightness of the instrument panel illumination can be adjusted by turning the knob/switch located on the instrument cluster. In addition, by pressing the knob/switch, you can change the brightness of the backlight when the outdoor lighting is on or off.
- System sensitivity in mode «AUTQ" can be adjusted at an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
HID xenon headlights (some performances)
The low beam headlights use HID xenon lamps, which provide a beam of bright white light and good road and shoulder illumination.
Attention.
- Do not replace HID xenon lamps yourself.
- Replacing xenon headlight bulbs on your own is dangerous. If xenon lamps are handled incorrectly, you may receive an electric shock, as such lamps operate with high electrical voltage. If it is necessary to replace xenon lamps, contact a service station of an authorized Mazda dealer.
Note: If the headlights are flashing or the brightness of the light has decreased, this indicates the exhaustion of the lamp life. Replace old xenon lamps with new ones. In such cases, it is necessary to contact the service station of an authorized Mazda dealer.
