Precautions when working with elements of the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS)

To avoid malfunction of the SRS system, which could increase the risk of injury or death in an accident requiring the deployment of an airbag, any work on the system should be carried out only at authorized service stations. Special care must be taken when working with elements associated with an additional passive safety system (e.g. when removing the steering wheel), strictly follow the instructions given in this manual. Incorrect maintenance practices, including improper removal and installation of SRS components, can result in personal injury due to unexpected activation of the system.
