Removal and installation of the oil pan
Attention.
- A hot engine and engine oil can cause various burns. You must turn off the engine and wait until it cools down.
- A vehicle that is raised on a lift but not secured with safety stands is dangerous. It may come off and fall, causing death or serious injury. Do not work around or under a raised vehicle that is not supported by safety stands.
- Prolonged skin contact with used engine oil can cause skin cancer. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after handling engine oil.
Removing the oil pan
1. Remove front protective tray #2.
2. Drain engine oil.
3. To turn away bolts of fastening of the oil pallet.
4. Using a special cutter and a hammer, disconnect the oil pan from the engine block.
5. Remove the oil pan from the engine.
Oil pan installation
1. Thoroughly clean and remove sealant residues, oil and other contaminants from the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and oil pan.
2. If the oil pan bolts are reused, clean the threads of the old sealant.
Attention.
- Apply silicone sealant in an even, continuous bead.
- To prevent premature curing of the silicone sealant, install the front cover on the engine within 10 minutes of applying the sealant. Tighten the fastening bolts immediately.
- If the bolt with hardened sealant is tightened, it may cause a crack in the cylinder head or cylinder block.
3. Apply silicone sealant to the lip of the oil pan on the inside of the bolt holes as shown.
Note. Sealant bead thickness: 2.0-6.0mm.
4. Install oil pan (1) to the cylinder block.
5. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in the figure to a torque of 8-11 Nm.
6. Pour the required amount of engine oil of the desired grade into the engine.
7. Start the engine and check for oil leaks. If oil leaks are found, repair or replace the relevant component.
8. Check engine oil level.
