Attention.
- A hot engine and engine oil can cause various burns. You must turn off the engine and wait until it cools down.
- A vehicle that is raised on a lift but not secured with safety stands is dangerous. It may come off and fall, causing death or serious injury. Do not work around or under a raised vehicle that is not supported by safety stands.
- Prolonged skin contact with used engine oil can cause skin cancer. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after handling engine oil.
- If engine oil is spilled on exhaust system components, it must be wiped up immediately. Otherwise, after heating the exhaust system, spilled oil will cause unpleasant odors.
Gas engine
1. Hoses of the cooling system.
2. Oil cooler.
3. Gasket.
Note.
: replace the part with a new one after each removal.
: apply oil.
Removing the oil cooler
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the front protective tray #2.
3. Drain engine coolant.
4. Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the oil cooler.
5. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the oil cooler from the engine.
6. Remove the oil cooler gasket.
7. Use a clean cloth to wipe the housing mounting surfaces
3. Install the oil cooler by aligning the tab with the groove in the oil filter housing.
4. Tighten the oil cooler fixing bolt to 34-40 Nm.
5. Connect the cooling system hoses.
6. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
7. Fill the engine with coolant.
8. Start the engine and check for oil leaks. If oil leaks are found, repair or replace the relevant component.
9. Check engine oil level.
10. Check the tightness of the cooling system (see the relevant section of the chapter "Cooling system").
Diesel engine
1. Hoses of the cooling system.
2. Oil cooler.
3. O-ring of circular cross-section.
Note.
: replace the part with a new one after each removal.
: apply oil.
Removing the oil cooler
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the front protective tray #2.
3. Drain engine coolant.
4. Remove the expansion tank of the cooling system.
5. Remove the inlet shut-off valve assembly.
6. Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the oil cooler.
7. Cover the area around the oil cooler as some oil will leak out from under it when removed.
8. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the oil cooler from the engine.
9. Using a clean rag, wipe the mounting surfaces of the oil filter housing and oil cooler.
Oil cooler installation
1. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
Note. Tighten the oil cooler mounting bolts in the sequence shown in the figure to a torque of 8-11 Nm.
2. Fill the engine with coolant.
3. Start the engine and check for oil leaks. If oil leaks are found, repair or replace the relevant component.
4. Check engine oil level.
5. Check the tightness of the cooling system (see the relevant section of the chapter "Cooling system").
