Removal and installation of the gauge of the mass expense of air / temperature of air on an inlet
Note: Because the #1 intake air temperature sensor is built into the mass air flow sensor, these sensors cannot be replaced individually.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor connector.
3. Remove the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor.
4. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
Checking the Mass Air Flow Sensor
Visual check
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor connector.
3. Remove the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor.
4. Visually check the mass air flow sensor:
- for damage, cracks and dirt.
- for rust on the sensor leads.
- for sensor distortion.
5. If any defects are found, repair or replace the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor with a new one.
Voltage test
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor without disconnecting the connector.
3. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Connect the M-MDS device to the DLC-2 diagnostic socket.
5. Turn on the ignition (engine off or on).
6. With a gradual increase in the air supply that enters the sensing element of the mass air flow / intake air temperature sensor, the output voltage of the sensor will change (MAF in M-MDS). If the voltage value does not change, replace the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor with a new one.

Checking the sensor No. 1 air temperature at the inlet
Resistance Test Sensor #1 Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature
Note: Because the #1 intake air temperature sensor is built into the mass air flow sensor, these sensors cannot be replaced individually.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor connector.
3. Measure the resistance between terminals A and B of the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor connector. If the measured value is not correct, replace the mass air flow/intake air temperature sensor.
