Removal and installation of the throttle position sensor
Note: The throttle position sensor cannot be replaced individually. If it is necessary to replace the throttle sensor, replace it together with the throttle body.
Throttle position sensor test
Voltage test
Attention. This test cannot be performed correctly if the accelerator pedal position sensor or throttle actuator is defective. Before starting the test, make sure that there are no trouble codes regarding the accelerator pedal position sensor or throttle actuator.
1. Connect the M-MDS device to the DLC-2 diagnostic connector.
2. Turn on the ignition (engine off or on).
3. Verify that the output voltage of the throttle position sensor (TP1, TP2 according to the M-MDS device) changes according to the throttle opening angle as the opening angle gradually increases. If the output voltage changes, go to the next step. If the output voltage does not change, replace the throttle body with a new one.
4. Verify that the output voltage of the throttle position sensor (TP1, TP2 according to the M-MDS device) corresponds to the norm when the pedal is depressed and released. If the values obtained are not correct, replace the throttle body with a new one.
