Attention.
- There are two types of engine control unit firmware. If the wrong firmware of the control unit is installed, there may be a discrepancy between the operation of the components of the engine management system.
- When replacing the engine control unit, make sure that the first four characters of the part number on the control unit label match on the new and replacement units.
Without mounting bolts
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the engine control unit cover.
3. Disconnect the engine control unit connector.
4. Remove the electronic engine control unit assembly from the battery shelf.
5. Remove the engine control unit from the bracket.
6. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
7. In case of replacement of the electronic engine control unit, it is necessary to configure it, as well as programming the components associated with the system.
Note: If the configuration is not done by reading/writing vehicle-specific information, perform the configuration using the built-in information after replacing the control unit.
With mounting bolts
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the engine control unit cover.
Note:
To remove the set bolt, do the following:
- Using a chisel and hammer, create a groove in the head of the set bolt to insert the screwdriver.
- Unscrew the set screw with a screwdriver or pliers.
3. Disconnect the connector of the electronic engine control unit.
4. Remove the electronic engine control unit from the battery shelf.
5. Remove the engine control unit from the bracket.
6. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
Note: Tighten the set screws until the head is sheared off.
Note:
- Insert the edge of the engine control unit cover into area A shown in the figure.
- First bait and then completely tighten the two bolts.
Attention.
- Do not touch the terminals of the electronic control unit connector. Connector pins are very thin and can be damaged if touched
- If the engine control module connector is installed at an angle and the locking lever moves, the connector will be damaged. Make sure the control unit connector is inserted straight. Move the connector locking lever until it clicks.
7. In case of replacement of the electronic engine control unit, it is necessary to configure it, as well as programming the components associated with the system.
