Alternator drive belt
Note: Due to the use of an automatic tensioner, checking the flex/tension of the alternator drive belt is not necessary.
1. Verify that the hexagon pointer on the automatic drive belt tensioner is within the allowable range. If not, replace the drive belt with a new one.
Water pump drive belt
Note: Due to the use of a stretchable water pump drive belt, it is not necessary to check the deflection/tension of the alternator drive belt.
1. Visually or by feel check for wear, damage or cracks on the inside and sides of the entire belt. Even if there is slight wear, damage or cracks, replace the water pump drive belt with a new one.
2. Start the engine to make sure there are no abnormal noises. If there is noise, replace the water pump drive belt with a new one.
