Attention.
- A hot engine can cause burns. Before starting work, turn off the engine and wait until it cools down.
- Do not disassemble the electric phase shifter as it is a precision unit.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the decorative engine cover.
3. Remove the electric camshaft adjuster motor.
4. Turning the eccentric shaft of the electric phase shifter by hand, make sure that the rotation is smooth. If jamming is felt, replace the electric phase shifter with a new one.
Note:
- To facilitate turning the eccentric shaft, hook the connecting groove with your finger.
- The eccentric shaft stops rotating when it reaches the maximum retard position when turning counterclockwise (when viewed from the front), as well as when reaching the maximum advance position when rotating clockwise.
- The eccentric shaft rotates 15.8 revolutions from maximum retard to maximum advance.
5. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
