Checks on the removed cardan shaft
1. Using a dial gauge, measure the runout of the center of the propeller shaft sections. If the measured value is greater than 0.8 mm, replace the propeller shaft assembly with a new one.
2. Check for play and ease of rotation of the cardan joint by turning it in the direction of the arrows in the figure. If the moment of resistance to rotation of the cardan shaft is not correct (0.29-1.47 Nm), replace the cardan shaft with a new one.

1. Shaking the universal joint by hand, make sure there is no excessive play.
2. If there is excessive play, replace the cardan shaft with a new one.
Checking the cardan shaft runout
Attention. When carrying out the test, do not rotate the cardan shaft from the engine.
1. Shift the transmission to neutral and release the parking brake.
2. While rotating the rear wheels of the vehicle by hand, use a dial gauge to check the driveshaft runout at the two points shown in the figure. If the measured value is greater than 0.8 mm, replace the cardan shaft with a new one.
