1. Place the car on a level surface, apply the parking brake (the shift lever for cars with a manual transmission must be in the reverse gear position, with an automatic transmission - Park), remove the wheel trim (if equipped) and loosen, but do not remove, the wheel lug nuts. Lock the diagonally opposite wheel.
2. Jack up the vehicle just enough to lift the tire off the ground.
3. Remove nuts.
4. Remove the wheel and spike.
5. If an empty tire is being replaced, provide adequate ground clearance for the new inflated tire, then install the wheel.
6. Lightly grease the threads of the wheel studs and install the nuts.
7. Lower the vehicle until the tires are in contact with the ground and the wheel studs are centered in the wheel holes.
8. Compress the nuts evenly to the torque specified in the Specifications.
9. Lower the car completely and remove the jack.
10. Replace the wheel trim.
