Before launch
- set the parking brake
- shift the manual transmission to idle, the automatic to "R" or "N".
Starting a cold engine
Turn the ignition key to position 2. The battery and pre-filament lamps will light up. The preheating process has begun.
An extinguished glow plug indicates that the engine can be started.
Outside temperature above 0°C:
Turn the key in the ignition switch to the right as far as it will go. Do not press the gas pedal.
Release the key as soon as the engine starts to run smoothly.
Outside temperature below 0°C:
Press the gas pedal evenly together with the clutch pedal. Turn the key in the ignition lock to the right until it stops. Release the key as soon as the motor starts to run evenly at high speeds. Release the gas pedal slowly.
The engine start process must not be interrupted.
If the engine is very cold, there is a risk that the engine will not start when restarted.
Starting a warm engine
Turn the key in the ignition lock to the stop. The engine will immediately start without pressing the gas pedal.
Engine stop
After you have stopped the car, turn the ignition key to position 0.
If the engine continues to run after this, stop it automatically, see later in the instructions.
At very high coolant temperatures (e.g. after a long trip), the engine will not stop immediately, it will continue to run at high idle for 1-2 minutes.
Note:
If the engine cannot be restarted, turn the ignition key to position 0 before restarting the engine.
Immediately after starting the engine, observe the oil pressure reading. With a very cold engine, immediately after starting it, note the oil pressure level.
Do not allow high engine speeds before the oil pressure reading is established. The battery lamp will light up immediately after the engine is started.
If the pre-glow lamp does not come on, then there is a problem with the pre-glow system. You need to contact the service station. In areas where the air temperature often drops below -18°C, we advise you to equip your vehicle with a coolant heater.
You can get detailed information at the service station.
Attention! If the car is left unattended, always take the ignition key and lock all doors.
From the inside:
- to lock each of the doors, press the lock button.
- to open, pull the lock button up.
- to open, pull the door handle towards you.
Carefully! Do not leave children alone in the car.
