Ignition system — general description and precautions

The ignition system consists of a battery, a distributor, an ignition coil, an ignition lock, spark plugs, and high and low voltage wires.

This system is equipped with a magnetic assembly located inside the distributor, consisting of a runner, a coil, a centrifugal advance regulator, a vacuum block and a chopper assembly. The breaker assembly is an electronic unit whose contacts do not wear out and cannot be replaced.

Warning: Care must be taken when working on the ignition system. Before doing any work, turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable.
