Warning: Gasoline is extremely flammable. therefore take extra precautions when working on any part of the fuel system. Do not smoke or be near open flames or incandescent lamps.
1. Remove the cable from the negative pole of the battery.
2. Remove the air filter assembly.
3. Disconnect the throttle link and (if equipped) medium speed control cables (photo).

4. Disconnect the fuel lines.
5. Disconnect electrical wiring.
6. Disconnect the choke cable (models with mechanical shutter) - see chapter 11.
7. Disconnect the vacuum lines from the carburetor, noting their locations.
8. Remove the mounting nuts, raise the carburetor enough to allow the heater damper wire to be disconnected (only automatic choke) and remove the carburetor from the manifold.
9. Remove the gasket from the manifold using a screwdriver (photo).

10. Installation - reverse procedure to removal, paying attention to the following:
- Fill the carburetor reservoir with fuel to help fill the system with fuel.
- Use new gaskets on both sides.
- After installation, start the engine, check that there are no leaks and the fuel level is aligned with the mark in the clearance in the carburetor glass. If not, adjust the top position of the float as described in Chapter 8.
- It is also necessary to check the idle speed and the quality of the mixture and, if necessary, adjust.
