1. The input shaft seal can only be replaced after the transmission has been removed. The drive shaft seals can be replaced with the transmission installed. Proceed as described below.
2. Separate the drive shaft or connecting shaft from the transmission as described in Section 8.
3. Carefully remove the old oil seal using a blunt screwdriver or similar tool.
4. Coat the new oil seal with gear oil. Install the oil seal with the open side facing the transmission and use a tubular drift or large socket to seat the oil seal in place.
5. Install the drive shaft or connecting shaft as described in Section 8.
