1. Unscrew and remove the back cover (5 speed gearbox).
2. Using a punch, drive the blocking rims of the locknuts out of the grooves (5 speed gearbox).
3. Carefully block the teeth of the gears with a screwdriver or similar tool and remove the locknuts (photo).

4. Remove the 5th gear fork mounting pin and the fork itself (photo).
Knock out the shift fork retaining pin with a hammer and punch
5. Remove the 5th gear limiter, synchronizer assembly, synchronizer blocking ring, gear bushing and gear itself.
6. Remove the retaining bolt from the transmission case (photo).

7. Remove the guide bolt from the crankcase (photo). Remove the stop bolt, ball and spring.

8. Unscrew the reversing lamp wiring connector from the crankcase.
9. Mark the location of the wiring clamp for ease of re-installation and remove the transmission bolts.
10. Carefully separate the crankcase halves (photo).

11. Remove the lubrication channel of the 5th gear (photo).

12. Remove the magnet from the crankcase.
13. Remove the reverse gear shaft and the gear itself (photo).

15. On models with a 4-speed gearbox, remove the backstage and reverse lever assembly by setting the driver roller lever to the neutral position.
On models with a 4-speed transmission, remove the backstage and reverse lever assembly (Chapter 5)
16. Remove the 5th gear and reverse engagement rod (photo).

17. Remove the 5th gear and reverse gear (photo).

18. Knock out the fixing pin of the two-arm lever and remove the lever axle (5 speed gearbox) (photo).

19. Remove the two-arm lever assembly by moving the driver pin to release the lever (5 speed gearbox) (photo).

20. After making sure that the end of the locking sleeve is flush with the end of the control lever, turn the stem of the forks counterclockwise until it stops (photo).

21. Pull out the shift rod. You may need to remove the blocking ball.
22. Knock out the mounting pin from the shift rod (photo).

23. Set the transmission to the 4th gear position by moving the top shift fork up (photo).

24. Carefully withdraw the shift rod from the crankcase. A steel ball will fall out of the axis of the reverse gear lever.
25. Remove the output shaft and fork assembly from the transmission case (photo).

26. Remove the primary gear assembly.
27. Remove differential assembly (photo).

28. Remove the switch of a control lamp of a choice of 5th transfer or the switch of a control lamp of a choice of neutral position.
29. Remove the seals and bearing rings of the input shaft.
30. Remove the bearing support from the transmission case.
31. Unscrew and remove the guide plate and the driver roller lever.
32. Push out the lever mounting pin, making sure that the gear selector lever is in the center position.
33. Remove the drive roller cover from the transmission housing and remove the roller (photo).

34. Remove the bushing with the backstage engagement spring.
35. Carefully remove the bearing rings (photo).
Knock out the bearing ring
36. Remove the shift rod seal from the crankcase.
37. Remove the drive shaft seals from the crankcase by knocking them out with a hammer and punch.
38. Remove the differential bearing race.
39. Remove the breather deflector.
40. Remove the control lever spring.
