Pic. 10.22. Left pressure regulator: 1 – brake tube; 2 - bolt; 3 - pressure regulator
The pressure regulator is located on the bulkhead of the engine compartment (pic. 10.22). It requires special testing equipment to check it accurately, but a malfunction can be indicated by premature locking of the rear wheel brakes when braking with a heavy load, or if the rear brakes do not work at all.
To remove the pressure regulator, first clean it from the outside, then unscrew all pipes from it. Use a rag to collect leaking brake fluid and be careful not to let brake fluid come into contact with the vehicle's paintwork.
Loosen the bolt securing the pressure regulator to the bulkhead and remove it.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Upon completion of all operations, bleed the air from the hydraulic drive of the brake system.
