Attention!
- Be careful when handling the sensitive oxygen sensor to avoid damaging it.
- Attached to the oxygen sensor is a flexible wire and connector that must not be removed from the sensor. Damage or removal of the pigtail or connector may adversely affect its performance.
- It is necessary to remove grease, dirt, etc. from the electrical connector and the end of the sensor.
- Do not use solvents when cleaning the oxygen sensor.
- Handle the sensor carefully.
- The silicone sheath must be installed in the correct position to prevent it from melting and preventing the sensor from functioning properly.
The sensor is installed in the exhaust manifold and can be accessed from the engine compartment.
Since it is difficult to remove the oxygen concentration sensor from a cold engine, warm up the engine to a temperature of 48°C.
Disconnect the connector from the oxygen concentration sensor.
Mark the position of the silicone cover and carefully unscrew the oxygen sensor from the exhaust manifold. Inspect the sensor for signs of damage.
When removing the sensor, a special loosening compound can be used by applying it to the threads of the sensor. The threads of the new sensor are already coated with this compound, but if for any reason the oxygen sensor is removed and then reinstalled, the threads must be coated with this compound before reinstallation.
Screw in the sensor and tighten it securely.
Connect the electrical connector.
