Air flap control cable

Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.

Remove the air filter.

Disconnect the choke control cable from the carburetor by loosening the clamp fastening screw, remove the cable sheath from the clamp and disconnect the cable.

Turn away a ring nut of fastening of a cover of a cable to the panel of devices accessible from inside of the car. Rotate the control handle 180°and remove the countersunk screw securing the handle.

Remove the control handle from the instrument panel. Turn out the screw of fastening of the light indicator of opening of the air damper and remove the indicator from a cable cover.

Remove the cable from the rubber boot in the wall of the engine compartment and pull it out.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.

Adjust the position of the cable sheath in the yoke so that when the position of the control handle is pushed in as far as it will go, very little free play of the cable is felt.

Ask an assistant to push the cable handle to the stop and fully extend it - the air damper should open and close completely.

Install the air filter and connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery. Check if the indicator light is working properly.
