General information about gasoline engines

The engine block is cast iron, the removable cylinder head is cast aluminum alloy. The camshaft is mounted on the cylinder head, the force is transferred to the valves through rocker arms located on a common shaft.

The first chapters of the section describe repairs without removing the engine from the car, the subsequent chapters discuss in detail the procedure for removing and installing the engine. The following describes the repair procedures for parts located in the block and cylinder head.
