Engine assembly sequence during overhaul

Before starting assembly, have all necessary new parts, gaskets and seals, as well as the following tools and fixtures:

• standard set of tools;
• socket torque wrench «1/2»;
• device for installing piston rings;
• mandrel for compressing rings;
• pieces of rubber or plastic hoses for installation on the connecting rod cap bolts;
• plastic calibrated rod;
• a set of probes;
• file;
• fresh motor oil;
• sealant type RTV;
• locking compound that prevents self-loosening of threaded connections (blocking fluid).
• To save time and labor, it is recommended to assemble in the following order:
• crankshaft and main bearings;
• guide bearing (on models with manual transmission);
• pistons assembled with connecting rods;
• rear oil seal and gland cover;
• oil pump and oil receiver;
• oil pan;
• flywheel with clutch mechanism;
• front engine mount bracket;
• water pump;
• cylinder head, camshaft, valve drive mechanism;
• front cover and front oil seal;
• camshaft timing belt pulley and tensioner;
• toothed belt and belt covers;
• fuel pump;
• back cover;
• cylinder head cover;
• emergency oil pressure sensor;
• oil filter;
• thermostat with housing;
• ignition distributor, candles, high-voltage wires;
• coolant supply pipes with hoses;
• intake and exhaust manifolds;
• generator and brackets;
• system for reducing the toxicity of exhaust gases.
