Three-way solenoid valve (since 1984)

Warm up the engine and leave it to idle.

Connect a voltmeter between the contact «W» valves and «weight» car. Increase the engine speed, release the accelerator pedal sharply and check that the voltmeter shows zero voltage only when the engine speed is reduced. Otherwise, check the corresponding wires.

Mark places of connection of vacuum hoses, then disconnect them. Disconnect the connector and remove the valve mounting bolts.

Apply a jet of air to the valve inlet port and check that air exits only from the port leading to the carburetor. Then apply a voltage of 12 V to the valve contacts and repeat the test - air should only come out of the channel going to the air filter. Replace the solenoid valve if it is defective.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
