Overhaul of the gearbox must be carried out in a specialized workshop. However, you can remove and install the transmission yourself, thereby reducing costs, even if further repairs are carried out by a transmission specialist.
Adjustments that can be made independently include work with the downshift mechanism, lock switch (neutral start), vacuum diaphragm and shift rod.

The main external elements of an automatic transmission are shown in fig. 9.22.
Tightening torques, Nm
- M10 bolts for fastening the cross member - 44–55
- Bolt М12 of fastening of a cross - 95–118
- Interlock switch - 19–26
- Bolt of fastening of the oil pallet — 5–8
- Bolts of fastening of a transmission to the engine — 91–118
Attention! Never tow a car with an automatic transmission at a speed of more than 50 km/h or for a distance of more than 80 km (except when towing with the drive wheels raised). Failure to do so may result in serious damage to the transmission, which can be caused by lack of lubrication.
