Drain approximately 1 liter of fluid from the gearbox housing so that its level is below the vacuum diaphragm.
Disconnect the vacuum hose and remove the vacuum diaphragm from the gearbox housing.

Connect the vacuum pump to the diaphragm and check that the stem moves under vacuum (pic. 9.23). If the stem does not move or moves less than 25mm, replace the diaphragm.
Lubricate the diaphragm threads with sealant before installation.
After installation, check the fluid level and add as needed.
