High voltage wires
1. Inspect the high voltage wires for traces of sparks with the engine running.
2. Disconnect the wires from the spark plugs, take only the wire sheath. Inspect wire contacts, clean contacts for corrosion or replace wires.
3. Connect the wires to the spark plugs.
4. Wipe the high voltage wires along their entire length and inspect the wires for damage or wear.
5. Disconnect the wires from the distributor or ignition coil. Check the status of the contacts.
Ignition distributor cap and slider
1. Turn off fixing screws and remove a cover of the distributor of ignition.
2. Check the lid for cracks (1), traces of sparks (2), broken sections (3) and other damage.
3. Inspect the ignition distributor cap from the inside for traces of sparks (1). Check if the terminals are worn (3) and is the ember not damaged (2).
4. Remove the slider and inspect it for cracks (3), corrosion (2) and other damage. Check if the spring is loose (1). Replace cap and slider if necessary.
5. Check contact resistance between high voltage wires and cover.
Ignition coil
Inspect the coil for cracks, damage and spark marks.
