Examination
1. Throttle position sensor (arrow) located on the damper body. Disconnect the sensor connector and check that, with the ignition on, the voltage between the REF terminals (+) and GND (-) was approximately 5.0 volts.
2. Check sensor signal voltage between SIG terminals (+) and GND (-). When the throttle is fully closed, the voltage should be 0.5-1.0 volts. At wide open throttle, the voltage should rise to 3.5-5.0 volts.
Adjustment
Unscrew the fixing screws of the sensor (arrows) and rotate the sensor so that when the throttle is fully closed, the signal voltage of the sensor is 0.5–1.0 Volts.
Replacement
1. On 1993 models with a four-cylinder engine, the sensor cannot be replaced.
2. On all other models, disconnect the sensor connector, unscrew the fixing screws and remove the sensor.
3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
