1. After any work during which the power steering hoses were disconnected, it is necessary to bleed the system and remove the air that got into it.
2. Set the front wheels to the straight ahead position, check the fluid level in the booster can and add fluid to the Cold mark on the dipstick.
3. Start the engine and let it run at high speed. Check the fluid level in the booster reservoir again and, if necessary, top it up to the Cold mark.
4. Bleed the system by turning the steering wheel from side to side without stopping. This will remove air from the system. Continuously check the fluid level in the booster reservoir.
5. After bleeding the system, center the front wheels and let the engine run for a few more minutes.
6. To check the operation of the power steering, take the vehicle for a test drive. Make sure that the amplifier system is working and free of extraneous noise.
7. Check the fluid level in the booster reservoir and bring it up to the Hot line at engine operating temperature. Add fluid if necessary (see chapter 1).
