Examination
1. If when you turn on the headlights (or by pressing the headlight damper button on 1993 models) headlights don't go up. first check the 20 amp fusible link located in the engine compartment fuse/relay box (see paragraph 3).
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp actuator motor.
3. Using a voltmeter or test light, check for voltage on the red with white stripes wire that goes into the connector. Using an ohmmeter, make sure that the connector terminal to which the black wire is connected is connected to the vehicle ground. If there is no voltage or ground at the connector, reconnect the wires.
4. Turn off the headlights (or lower the headlight shutters on 1993 models), then verify that there is voltage on the orange with black stripes wire that goes to the actuator connector. In this case, there should be no voltage in the red wire of the connector. Turn on the lights (or raise the headlight shutters on 1993 models). In this case, voltage should be present in the red wire and absent in the orange wire with black stripes. If the voltage in these wires differs from the above. the malfunction may be a breakdown of the headlight lift control unit. In this case, you must contact a specialized service station to check the control unit.
5. If the voltage in the connector changes in the above way, the ground wire has contact with the ground, and the actuator does not work, replace it.
Replacement
6. Remove the headlights (see paragraph 16).
7. Turn out three bolts of fastening of an arm of the executive mechanism to a body (see fig. 16.10).
8. Disconnect the wiring connector from the actuator motor and remove the motor with bracket. To replace the motor, remove the three bolts securing the motor to the bracket.
9. Install the gay in sequence. reverse withdrawal.
