- A) Before connecting a foreign battery, make sure that the ignition is off.
- b) Turn off all electrical consumers (lighting devices, heater fan, glass heater, etc.)
- V) Wear safety goggles.
- G) Make sure the foreign battery has the same voltage as yours.
- d) If the battery of another vehicle is used as a bystander, the vehicles MUST NOT touch each other.
- e) Make sure. that the gear selector is in position "neutral" (or "PARK" in case of automatic transmission).
- and) If the foreign battery is not of the maintenance-free type, unscrew the cell plugs and cover the battery with a rag.
Connect the red transfer wire to the positive (+) terminals of both batteries.
Connect one end of the black transfer wire to the negative (-J foreign battery terminal.
Attach the other end of the black wire to some part of the engine block to be started, away from the battery (see picture). Make sure that the portable wires do not touch the fan, drive belts, or other moving parts of the engine.
Start the engine with a foreign battery. When the engine starts to run steadily at idle, disconnect the portable wires in the reverse order of connection.
