19. The battery does not hold a charge
1. The alternator belt is defective or loose (Chapter 1).
2. Low electrolyte level in the battery (Chapter 1).
3. Battery terminal connections are oxidized or loose (Chapter 1).
4. The generator does not provide charging current (chapter 5).
5. Faulty charge circuit (chapter 5).
6. Short circuit in the circuits of the electrical equipment of the car (chapter 12).
7. Internal battery damage (chapters 1 and 5).
20. Low battery light does not turn off
1. Faulty alternator or charge circuit (chapter 5).
2. The alternator belt is defective or loose (Chapter 1).
3. The voltage regulator of the charge system is faulty (chapter S).
21. The low battery light does not light up when the ignition key is turned
1. Signal light burnt out (chapter 5).
2. Faulty printed circuit board, instrument panel wiring or bulb socket (chapter 12).
