Signaling devices
The signaling devices light up on the dashboard after the ignition is switched on. If the monitored systems are in good order, then the signaling devices go out after a few seconds. If one of the indicator lights comes on while driving or the engine is running, this indicates a malfunction of the corresponding system. It is necessary to stop the movement, find out and eliminate the cause of the malfunction. In difficult cases, contact a Mazda dealer.
Central malfunction indicator (CHECK ENGINE) (The alarm is not installed on all models)
Can light up simultaneously with other signaling devices and indicators (for example, a drop in engine oil pressure or a dangerous rise in coolant temperature), as well as other engine malfunctions that can be detected by the self-diagnosis system of the electronic control unit If the cause of the malfunction is not obvious, contact a Mazda workshop.
Low pressure or engine oil level indicator
The indicator lights up when there is insufficient oil level or pressure in the engine lubrication system.
Stop immediately and find out the cause of the indicator light. If the oil level in the engine has fallen below the permissible level, you can try to add oil and continue driving (see chapter 1). If after that the indicator continues to burn, then it is not recommended to leave the engine running - you can ruin it.
Coolant temperature alarm
Stop and try to find out the cause of the increase in fluid temperature. Check if the radiator is blocked, or if the cooling system hoses are in good condition. Let the engine cool down a little and check the coolant level. If the coolant level is low, you can add it and try to continue driving. The low level is the result of leaks. Find the cause of the leaks, otherwise it is useless to add liquid - it will leak out again. Cool the engine before adding fluid. When the engine is hot, there is excess pressure in the cooling system. It is advisable to add antifreeze of the desired brand and concentration, but if you don’t have it on the road, you can add clean water to the system, but as soon as possible, you need to bring the concentration of antifreeze to the required level (see chapter 3 for details).
Parking brake warning
The indicator lights up when the parking brake is on or not completely off, as well as when the brake fluid level in the reserve tank drops below the permissible level. In the latter case, the indicator continues to burn when the brake is fully released.
Stop and make sure the parking brake is fully released. If the light stays on, check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. If the level is low, you can drink the liquid and continue driving, but a low level may be due to leakage and air entering the brake system.
Signaling device of malfunction of antiblocking system of brakes (ABS!
In the event of a malfunction of the ABS, the warning lamp is constantly on. The possibility of braking in normal mode remains.
Traction control system malfunction indicator (TCS)
The warning light flashes when the system is adjusting the torque on the vehicle's wheels. This mode is not emergency. If the indicator is on and does not flash while driving, then a malfunction has been detected in the system. You can continue driving, but you should be careful when accelerating, driving uphill, especially on slippery road surfaces.
Battery discharge indicator
Reasons for battery drain can be:
- battery charge target failure;
- loosening of the clamps of the battery or starter terminals;
- weakening the tension of the alternator drive belt
- generator or rectifier failure.
Minimum fuel level indicator in the tank
The signaling device lights up. when there is less than 10 liters of fuel left in the tank.
Airbag Warning
If the sigma indicator does not turn off or turns on while the engine is running, a malfunction has been detected in the airbag system. It is not recommended to independently repair or troubleshoot the airbag system - contact a specialized service station.
Indicators
Light indicators inform the driver about the operation of the engine and electrical systems of the car.
Indicators for turning on the position, dipped and main beams, as well as fog lamps and lanterns, direction indicators light up, depending on the position of the lever of the multifunction switch for outdoor lighting on the left of the steering column.
