Oil heat exchanger (V-shaped engines) — removal and installation

1. The oil heat exchanger on V-engines is installed between the oil filters at its base. The cooling system fluid is pumped through the heat exchanger through two hoses.

2. To remove the heat exchanger, first remove the oil filter and drain the engine coolant.

3. Disconnect the two cooling system hoses from the oil heat exchanger (pic. 9.3).



4. Loosen the nut securing the heat exchanger to the base and remove the heat exchanger.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Before installation, clean the mating surfaces and install a new seal between the heat exchanger and the base, slightly wetting it with engine oil.
