1. Repairs to the fuel tank and filler must be performed by a person experienced in this potentially dangerous job. Even after cleaning and flushing the tank, fuel vapors may remain in the tank, which may ignite during operation.
2. If the tank is removed from the car, it must be kept in a place where there is no open flame and there is no possibility of a spark, which is enough to ignite gasoline vapors. Especially dangerous in this regard are gas appliances with "on duty" wick.
