Removing
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Raise the car and put it on stands.
Drain the oil from the automatic transmission.
Remove the bottom and side shields.
Remove the oil sump, taking care not to spill the remaining oil in it.
Remove the valve box; at the same time, take measures to prevent the ball and spring of the torque converter reducing valve, as well as the vacuum modulator rod, from falling out.
Installation
Install the vacuum modulator rod.
Install the ball and spring of the torque converter pressure reducing valve into the crankcase seat, after lubricating them with petroleum jelly to prevent them from falling out.
Install the valve body, aligning the groove in the manual control box with the control rod guide pin.
Tighten the valve box mounting bolts.
Install the oil sump and tighten its mounting bolts.
Replace the bottom and side shields.
Lower the car.
Pour oil into the gearbox.
Make sure there are no oil leaks.
