Removing
Pre remove the gearbox.
Mark the position of the clutch release housing relative to the flywheel.
Loosen the bolts securing the clutch cover to the flywheel.
Remove the clutch cover assembly with pressure plate. This frees the drive disk.
Installation
Thoroughly clean the clutch parts and visually check the condition of the rivets and the fastening of the driven plate vibration damper springs. Check the condition of the working surface of the friction linings. If cracks are found, the distance between the rivet and the working surface of the lining is reduced to 0.3 mm, as well as in case of uneven wear and one-sided scoring, replace the friction linings. Apply a light coat of Molykote 321 R type grease to the gearbox input shaft splines and the outer surface of the clutch release bearing bushing.
Check up a condition of a surface under a conducted disk on a flywheel.
Check the condition of the clutch release bearing and transmission input shaft front bearing and replace them if necessary. Remove scratches and scuffs on this surface with a groove, removing a layer of metal no more than 0.5 mm. At the same time, machine the bearing surface of the clutch disc by the same amount so as not to change the preload of the pressure spring.
Install the clutch disc with the protruding part of the hub towards the pressure plate.
Install the clutch cover according to the marks made during disassembly. Screw the bolts securing the clutch cover to the flywheel and center the clutch disc with a mandrel 495E 01 310 or 49E 301 310, simulating the splined end of the gearbox input shaft.
Tighten the bolts securing the clutch cover to the flywheel to a torque of 1.8-2.6 kgf·m.
Install the gearbox.
Adjust the clutch release actuator.
