Gearbox types:
- vehicles with engines of all models except B6 EGI: F;
- vehicles with B6 EGI engine: G.
Gearbox types «F» And «G» have the same adjustment parameters, but differ from each other as follows:
- gearbox type «G» fully synchronized;
- in checkpoint type «F» an intermediate reverse gear of constant engagement was used, and in a gearbox of the type «G» this gear is movable;
- hub, sliding clutch and synchronizer V gear and over-run gearbox type «F» mounted on the secondary shaft, and in the gearbox type «G» this assembly is mounted on the input shaft;
- on the secondary shaft of the gearbox type «G» additionally installed diaphragm spring.
Gear ratios
Data for checking and adjusting
Backlash between an axis and an intermediate gear wheel of a backing, mm:
- nominal: 0.095-0.318;
- maximum allowable (when worn): 0,5.
Gap between the gear shift fork and the sliding sleeve of the synchronizer, mm:
- nominal: 0.200-0.458;
- maximum allowable (when worn): 0,5.
Axial clearance between the end face of the blocking ring and the end face of the toothed rim of the gear synchronizer, mm:
- nominal: 1.5;
- maximum allowable (when worn): 0,8.
Axial run of gears, mm:
- I gear: 0.140-0.370 / 0.42 *;
- II gear: 0.245-0.580 / 0.63;
- III gears: 0.095-0.380 / 0.43;
- IV gear: 0.090-0.400 / 0.45;
- V transmission: 0.150-0.262 / 0.312.
* The numerator is the nominal clearance, the denominator is the maximum allowable clearance (when worn).
Preload bearings of the primary and secondary shafts, Nm: 0.10-0.34.
To adjust the preload of the bearings, shim rings are available as spare parts, 0.20 to 0.55 mm thick, at intervals of 0.05 mm.
Differential
Bearing preload, Nm: 0.03-0.75.
To adjust the preload of the bearings, shim rings with a thickness of 0.10 to 0.85 mm are supplied as spare parts at intervals of every 0.05 mm.
Lateral clearance between the teeth of side gears and planet gears, mm: 0-0.1.
Gearbox oil
Refueling capacity of the gearbox housing, l:
- Gearbox type «F»: 3,2;
- Gearbox type «G»: 3,35.
Oil used:
- Gearbox type «F»: SAE 80 W or SAE 90, API GL4 or GL5;
- Gearbox type «G» oil for automatic transmission ATF Dexron II.
Oil level check interval: every 15,000 km or once a year.
Oil change interval: every 45,000 km or every three years.
Tightening torques of the main threaded connections, kgf·m
- Bolt for securing the gearbox housing to the clutch housing: 3.8-5.3.
- Clutch housing to engine block bolt:
- upper: 6.5-9.1;
- lower: 9.1-11.9 / 6.5-9.1 *.
- Retaining bolt for reverse intermediate gear axle: 1.9-2.6.
- Nut of a lock bolt of an intermediate gear wheel of a backing: 13,0-21,0.
- Bolt for fastening the rear cover to the crankcase of a 5-speed gearbox: 0.8-1.1.
- Drain plug: 4.0-5.5.
- Differential driven gear bolt: 7.0-8.5.
- Reversing light switch: 2.5-3.5.
