The hood, trunk lid and doors are bolted on and can be easily replaced. When installing, be sure to maintain the correct air gaps, otherwise the doors will knock or there will be increased noise in the cabin during movement. The air gap must in any case run parallel and must have the same width over its entire length. This chapter also contains instructions for work on interior fittings, such as removing seats and upholstery.
Safety rules for work on the body
When carrying out welding work near the battery, the battery must be removed. When disconnecting the battery, be sure to read the instructions in Section Removing and installing the battery.
No welding or soldering should be carried out on the elements of the filled air conditioning system. This also applies to welding and soldering work on the vehicle if there is a risk of heating up the components of the air conditioning system.
Attention! The refrigerant circuit of the air conditioning system must not be opened. Remove the protective mastic of the bottom and the seals in the areas of repair with a rotating wire brush or heat with a hair dryer to a maximum temperature of +180°C and remove with a spatula.
During painting, the vehicle may heat up to a maximum of +80°C, otherwise there is a risk of damage to the electronic control unit.
