Removing
1. Remove the tie rod end.
2. Loosen the clamps at both ends of the cuff. Compress clamp clamps with pliers, or unscrew wire clamps.
3. Remove the rubber cuff.
Attention! If the cuff has been faulty for a long time, it can be concluded that dirt has entered the mechanism. The dirt, along with the grease, acts as a grinding paste and destroys the steering gear. In this case, and also if there are traces of rust on the rack, the steering mechanism must be repaired (performed in the workshop).
Installation
1. Lightly lubricate tie rod -C-.
2. Lightly grease seal -B- on collar -E- on the inside and fit onto tie rod -C-.
3. Push the seal onto the rack housing -A-.
4. Wrap the new wire around the cuff on the steering gear twice and twist it 4 - 4.5 times. A standard hose clamp with bolt can also be used instead.
5. Fix the cuff on the steering rod with a wire clamp.
Attention! The rubber cuff must not be twisted.
6. Install the tie rod end.
7. Lower the car.
8. Check toe, adjust if necessary.
