Checking the front wiper
1. First find out if the cleaner motor or power supply is faulty. To do this, proceed as follows.
2. Disconnect the multi-pin plug on the wiper motor.
Since 10/89, issue.
3. Using the auxiliary cable, apply voltage from the positive pole of the battery to terminal c. (The negative pole of the motor is connected to the negative of the battery through the body).
4. The wiper motor should now run in 1st stage (slowly). If it does not work, then the motor or the 1st stage is faulty.
5. Connect the positive cable to the terminal A to the left of the terminal With. The motor should now run fast in 2nd gear.
Checking the rear wiper
1. Connect the battery positive cable to terminal A and ground to terminal B of the plug and check if the motor is running.
2. Then disconnect the ground from terminal B and connect immediately to the motor housing. The motor should run to the stop position and stop.
Issue 9/85-9/89
3. Using an auxiliary cable, apply voltage from the positive pole of the battery to the terminal b. Connect the ground from the negative pole of the battery to terminal a. Terminal b located at the bottom left, terminal A bottom right.
4. The wiper motor must be running in the 1st stage (slowly). If it does not work, then the motor or the 1st stage is faulty.
4. Connect the negative cable to the terminal With. Terminal With located above the terminal A. The motor should now run on 2nd steps (fast).
Checking the rear wiper
1. Connect the positive battery cable to the terminal A, earth cable to terminal b plug and check if the engine is running.
2. Then remove the ground from the terminal b and immediately connect to the motor housing. The motor should run to the stop position and stop.
3. If the wiper motor does not work properly, install a new one, see Chapter Heater, lighting system, appliances, Chapter Removal and installation of the rear wiper motor.
4. Connect the front wiper motor plug.
