1. If the brake lights are not on, check the fuse in the fuse box first.
2. If the fuse is good, check the brake light bulbs, replace if necessary.
3. If lamps are serviceable, to check up the switch of stoplights. The brake light switch is located above the brake pedal on the pedal block. When the brake pedal is depressed, a pin extends from the switch. The switch contact closes and the brake lights come on.
4. Check the stoplight switch. To do this, disconnect the plug from the switch.
5. Connect an ohmmeter to the switch contacts. The resistance should be equal to infinity.
6. Press the brake pedal. The ohmmeter should now read 0 ohms. Otherwise, replace the switch.
