2. Before charging, disconnect the positive cable and ground cable from the battery, first the ground cable.
3. Before charging, check the electrolyte level, top up with distilled water if necessary.
4. The battery must be at least +10°C before charging. Defrost a frozen battery before charging. A charged battery freezes at -65°C, a half-charged battery freezes at -30°C, a discharged battery freezes at -12°C.
5. Charge the battery only in a well ventilated area. When charging the battery installed on the car, leave the hood open.
6. During normal charging, the charging current value is approximately 10% of the battery capacity. (A 50 Ah battery has approximately 5.0 A). The charging time can be set to 10 hours.
7. Connect the positive pole of the battery to the positive pole, the negative pole of the battery to the negative pole of the charger.
8. During charging, the temperature of the electrolyte should not exceed +55°C, if necessary, interrupt charging or reduce the value of the charging current.
9. Charge until gas starts to escape from the cans and the density of the electrolyte and voltage cease to increase during the next 3 measurements after 1 hour.
10. After charging, check the electrolyte level, top up with distilled water if necessary.
Attention! The engine must not be run with the battery not connected, otherwise the electrical system will be damaged.
Quick Charge/Startup Assistance
Charging the battery or starting assistance with a quick charger may only be done in exceptional cases, as the battery is subjected to a very high current. The fast charge current can be max. 20A. A battery that has been stored for a long time must not be charged with a quick charger, follow the battery storage instructions.
