Attention! On vehicles with a catalytic converter, the CO content cannot be checked or adjusted.
Check condition: Check the exhaust system by blocking the rear exhaust pipe with a cloth while the engine is running. All connections must be tight.
Attention! In this test, attention should be paid to particularly good ventilation. There is a danger of poisoning.
1. Warm up the engine. The engine temperature must be at least +80°C.
2. Check the idle speed.
3. Turn off all electrical consumers.
Attention! Connect test devices only with the ignition off.
4. Connect the tachometer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Connect a CO probe to the rear exhaust pipe.
6. Start the engine and let it idle.
7. Increase the speed for 3 minutes to 2500 - 3000 rpm.
8. Let the engine run for 3 minutes at idle so that the CO value stabilizes.
9. Check the CO content with a measuring device.
Required value: 1,5 ± 0,5 %
Attention! When checking, the radiator fan should not turn on. If the fan turns on, wait until it turns off again.
10. If the CO value needs to be adjusted, remove the seal from the adjusting screw and use it to adjust the CO content.
11. Check the idle speed again and adjust if necessary.
12. Turn off test devices with the ignition off.
