Front-wheel drive models with a gasoline engine up to 9/89 y.
The clutch actuator should be adjusted after every clutch repair and also regularly as part of maintenance. The adjustment should also be checked if the clutch is difficult to engage and disengage.
Adjustment
1. Measure the height of the pedal from the top of the pedal to the floor mat. Required value: from 215 to 220 mm.
2. To adjust the height of the pedal, remove the lower trim of the instrument panel to get to the adjusting bolt. Adjust the pedal height by turning the stop bolt after loosening the lock nut (lock nut). On models with an electronic injection system, a clutch switch is installed instead of a thrust bolt. In this case, disconnect the plug and adjust the pedal height by turning the switch.
3. Measure pedal free play. To do this, lightly press the pedal with your hand until a significant resistance is felt. Required value: from 9 to 15 mm.
4. If the free play of the pedal does not meet the required limits, open the hood and adjust the free play with the adjusting nut -B- on the threaded element of the clutch cable. Required gap value -A-: 1.5 to 3.0 mm (clearance between gear lever and cable pin).
5. After adjustment, fully depress the clutch pedal and measure the disengagement height between the pedal pad and the floor mat. Required value: at least 85 mm. Otherwise, repeat the adjustment.
