Steering rack check

Check the rack for cracking, damage and tooth wear. Replace rail if necessary.



Measure rack runout (pic. 5.27).

Runout:

• maximum near point A: 0.15 mm;
• maximum near point B: 0.20 mm.

If the runout is out of specification, replace the rack.
