Steering rod check

Check up steering draft on absence of deformation and damages. Replace it if necessary.

Check ball joint clearance. Replace tie rod if necessary.

Rock the tie rod five times.



Measure the rolling moment using a dynamometer (pic. 5.29).

• Swing torque: 0.1 - 4.0 Nm.
• Dynamometer readings: 0.6–24.5 N.

If the measurement result is different from the specified, replace the rod.
