Pic. 1.149. Installing the auxiliary key handle on the ignition switch
Before turning the ignition switch handle and engaging the starter to start the engine, check that the handle is securely attached to the switch. If the handle came off the ignition switch, secure it again. To do this, put the handle on the switch holder and press it (pic. 1.149).
1. Make sure the wearable card is «Advanced Key» is with you.
2. The driver and all passengers in the car must fasten the appropriate seat belts.
3. Check that the parking brake is on.
4. Depress the brake pedal.
5. If you have a manual transmission vehicle, fully depress the clutch pedal and move the gear lever to neutral. Hold the clutch pedal fully depressed while the starter is operating.
If your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, move the range selector lever to the «R» (parking). If it is necessary to start the engine while the vehicle is moving, move the range selector lever to the position «N» (neutral).

7. Check that the green indicator on the dashboard lights up «KEY» (key). Burning red indicator «KEY» indicates that the engine cannot be started.
Note. Red signaling device «KEY» lights up in the following cases (while the engine will not start):
- - the battery of the wearable card is discharged «Advanced Key»;
- - wearable card «Advanced Key» is outside the coverage area of the system;
- - wearable card «Advanced Key» is in an area where the system cannot detect a signal;
- - in the system coverage area there is a key of another brand, which is similar to a wearable card «Advanced Key».

8. While pressing and pushing the ignition switch handle, turn the ignition switch to the «ACC» (auxiliary consumers of electricity) (pic. 1.151).
9. Turn the ignition switch from position «ACC» into position «START» (starter) and hold the handle in this position until the engine starts (but not longer than 10 s). If the engine does not start immediately, then do not turn off the starter earlier than 10 s. This can make it difficult to start the engine at low ambient temperatures.
10. After starting, let the engine idle for approximately 10 seconds.
