The safety brake pedal design minimizes pedal backlash. This provides cushioning for the force of impact on the driver's lower body. In a frontal impact, the movement of the engine and other elements into the body causes the brake pedal bracket A to move backwards, and it separates from the brake pedal bracket B. The brake pedal lever, associated with the bracket support A, is prevented from moving backwards by the stopper on the brake pedal bracket B. As a result,, rearward movement of the brake pedal lever is suppressed by movement of the brake pedal bracket A.
