Pic. 1.19. Starting the engine with a wearable card «Advanced Key»: 1 - internal transmitter
The coverage area of the system when starting the engine covers almost the entire interior of the car, except for the luggage compartment or compartment (pic. 1.19).
Even though the luggage compartment or compartment is located outside the system's coverage, it is sometimes possible to start the engine. The engine may not start if the wearable card «Advanced Key» located in the following areas:
- near the dashboard;
- in one of the storage compartments, for example in the glove box;
- on the rear storage shelf (sedan cars).
Starting the engine is sometimes possible even if the wearable card is outside the vehicle but very close to a door or window. However, you should always start the engine only from the driver's seat. If the engine is running and the wearable card is outside the vehicle, the engine will not be able to start again after it is turned off and the ignition switch is turned to the steering wheel lock position. If the system detects a wearable card «Advanced Key» within the working area, the indicator built into the card briefly lights up.
The remote control system of the car locks is designed to function normally at a distance of no more than 1 m from the car. However, the range of the remote control may vary depending on local conditions in the vicinity of the car. The remote control system does not function when the key is in the ignition. Doors and the trunk lid or liftgate are not locked with the lock button when any of the vehicle's doors or the trunk lid or liftgate is open. At the same time, the turn signal lights do not flash either. If the system does not respond when you press the button on the remote control or the range of action has become too short, this may indicate that the battery of the remote control is low. Additional remote controls can be purchased from an Authorized Mazda Dealer. Up to three remote controls can be used simultaneously on one vehicle. All existing remote controls must be taken to an Authorized Mazda Dealer so that the codes can be reprogrammed.
